WHAT IS STEARATE?
Stearates are a type of salts or esters of stearic acid, that are long-chain fatty acids. Zinc Stearates (zinc octadecanoate) are made by combining stearic acid with zinc oxide. Calcium Stearates (calcium salt and octadecanoic acid) are carboxylates made by combining stearic acid with calcium oxide. It has more heat capacity than Zn.

USES OF STEARATE

Powder-form Ca and Zn stearates are important components that function as stabilizers and lubricants in the production of plastics. They are mainly used costabilisers (PVC) and release agents. Polyethylene flows better in the presence of calcium carbonate.
2.Cosmetics Formulation
Zinc Stearate acts as a lubricant to hold together the liquid and oily agents in a cosmetic formulation. They help in improving the texture and expansion of products like creams and lotions. Zn is crucial as an anti-caking agent in compact powders and eyeshadow palettes.
